I was first introduced to acupressure when I was a child suffering from motion sickness. A friend told us about “Seabands,” a special acupressure wrist band that stimulates an acupuncture point called PC-6 or “Neiguan” that treats nausea. Years later I began to have neck, shoulder and back pain, headaches and trouble sleeping that I associated with stress and too many hours in front of a computer. Regular acupuncture helped me to manage my stress and as my symptoms began to subside I decided to enroll in acupuncture school.

I chose acupuncture over psychology and med school because it works for me personally, and because it gives me the opportunity to spend more time with people. I’m an avid reader and researcher, always looking for new ways to improve my health and the health of my clients. I’m also a long-time meditator and enjoy hiking and swimming.

I am a graduate of the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco and nationally board certified in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine by the NCCAOM. I’m currently completing a post-graduate doctoral program at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. I’m trained in acupressure & massage, acupuncture, herbal medicine, therapeutic exercise, diet/nutrition, and health coaching.

My own health journey has informed my practice by teaching me about managing chronic stress and related sleep problems and digestive complaints. I have special training in pain management and managing chronic illness with herbal medicine and Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA). I care deeply about my own health and the health of my clients.

I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have experienced acupuncture on my personal journey towards a more fulfilling and holistic life. My interest in healing began when I attended my first yoga class as a teenager. It was then that I realized our bodies, through movement and breath, serve as vessels for all of life’s experiences. This led me to pursue studies in health and wellness promotion, herbal classes and other modalities of holistic healing. Eventually, I found myself in acupuncture school, which provided me with mind-body medicine that I felt drawn to pursue. I firmly believe that our bodies possess an inherent wisdom that constantly strives for harmony. I am deeply passionate about my work because I simply provide my patients with the tools to embark on their own journeys towards well-being.

I am a graduate of the New England School of Acupuncture, where I received training in both Chinese and Japanese Style Acupuncture. I am nationally board certified in Acupuncture by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and licensed to practice acupuncture by the Rhode Island Department of Health. I received my Bachelor’s of Science in Health & Wellness Promotion at the University of Rhode Island. Additionally, I am a certified yoga teacher (RYT-200) and have experience in stretch therapy and guided meditation.

I aim to be a practitioner who creates a comfortable atmosphere for my patients. I want them to feel empowered and motivated to improve their health and cultivate self-compassion through simple yet effective ways of living their most authentic, natural life.

In 2009 Stephanie earned her Master’s degree in both Chinese and Japanese styles of acupuncture from the New England School of Acupuncture, the oldest acupuncture school in the United States. Through years of training Stephanie specializes in pediatrics and non-insertive needle techniques. From 2014-2016 she worked as a part-time acupuncturist with a focus on pediatrics as part of the HOPES Program at the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center where she provided acupuncture in both inpatient and outpatient settings to adult and pediatric patients undergoing radiation and chemotherapy.

In 2018 Stephanie traveled to Osaka and Kyoto, Japan to deepen her acupuncture training and cultural immersion by completing an intensive study under teachers of Kiiko Matsumoto in pediatrics, facial rejuvination, moxabustion techniques and the M-Test with the revered Dr. Yoshito Mukaino.

Stephanie is a dual Swiss and American citizen and first became interested in acupuncture while she was a young child in Switzerland accompanying family members on local trips to the village acupuncturist. Stephanie later began acupuncture treatments for her asthma at the age of fifteen and the results were so remarkable that she vowed to dedicate her interests in the healing profession. In addition to her busy practice in Providence, Stephanie continues to give guest lectures at Brown University on acupuncture and complementary medicine and pursue further studies with a focus on fertility and pregnancy support after her own personal journey. Recently Keystone Family Acupuncture became a referred Acupuncture provider by the Women and Infant’s Hospital Fertility Center in Providence, RI.

I’m passionate about the body’s innate intelligence and approach each case like a puzzle, looking for physical, emotional and energetic cues to my patient’s health concerns and pain. I often give optional “homework” because I love inspiring people to heal themselves.

I was lucky enough to receive my first acupuncture treatment before starting college. During the treatment I experienced an emotional release that affirmed a direct connection between areas that felt tight and blocked in my body to emotions that were unresolved. Afterward I felt acupuncture had the potential to work on three or more levels at once: healing the body, mind & emotions together. A seed was planted and my path was pointing toward a career in acupuncture.

I began my training at the New England School of Acupuncture and completed it at The American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. I feel I got the best of both schools, and I’m pleased I was able to study herbal medicine in San Francisco - where they grew the herbs I was studying! I am nationally board certified in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine by the NCCAOM. In addition I am a yoga teacher (RYT-200), studied Thai massage in Chiang Mai, and the Mukaino Method of relieving pain through movement in Barcelona.
